Snapchat’s Pixy flying camera may have been discontinued, but their fifth-generation Spectacles AR smartglasses continues to live on. Powered by Snap OS, this proprietary operating system was designed to enhance how people naturally interact with the world.
When paired with the Spectacles app, you can use your phone as a custom game controller with Lenses. That’s right, simply launch Spectator Mode so friends without Spectacles can follow along, mirror your device’s screen, and more. Weighing just 226g, it features four cameras that power the Snap Spatial Engine for seamless hand tracking, Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) micro-projectors, two Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and a custom Optical Engine that delivers a 46° diagonal field of view with a 37 pixel-per-degree resolution – similar to a 100 inch display viewed from 10 feet away. On a full charge, you can expect up to 45-minutes of continuous use. Available now exclusively through the Spectacles Developer Program, which costs $99 per month.

Today we’re introducing the fifth generation of Spectacles, our new see-through, standalone AR glasses that enable you to use Lenses and experience the world together with friends, in totally new ways,” said the company.
