Sony just showed off a limited-edition PlayStation 5 Digital Edition designed around Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming Insomniac Games title. The main package is called the Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. It pairs a specially finished digital console with a matching DualSense controller and a download code for the game. Everything goes on sale September 15, the same day the game launches, with pre-orders opening August 19 at 10 a.m. local time through PlayStation Direct and select stores.
Battle Yellow dominates the console in a bright, almost overwhelming yellow that pays homage to Wolverine’s original outfit and the game’s Battle Reborn esthetic. The renowned artist Jock provided the key illustration, which featured a snarling Wolverine at the top of one of the faceplate ideas. With the claw-slash designs cutting thru the panels, the darker chassis shows thru in some parts, as if the object has been clawed by adamantium. The similar slash-motif appears on the DualSense as well, with the slashes running over the body and grips in a way that appears to have been done on purpose rather than as a design flourish.

Only the users who pre-order the Digital Edition will get the complete package with the limited console. There are no plans for a disc-drive version, so don’t bother looking. That doesn’t mean you can’t get the appearance; if you already own a PS5 Slim or Pro, you can purchase a separate console cover.
Battle Yellow plates are available for the normal PlayStation 5 (digital or disc), the PS5 Pro, and the DualSense. The “Adamantium” edition is a different story, as it only appears on the PS5 Pro covers and the corresponding DualSense. In this edition, the brilliant yellow is replaced with a metallic silver finish that is intended to evoke the metal attached to Wolverine’s skeleton and claws, as it features the same slash details and Jock’s art but in a more muted color.
Pricing lands at $649.99 for the full Digital Edition bundle. The standalone Battle Yellow DualSense sells for $84.99. Console covers in either color are $74.99. The Adamantium DualSense also carries the $84.99 price. All pieces are limited, so availability will depend on stock once pre-orders begin. Be prepared to act quickly when the opportunity arises, since these limited items tend to sell quickly.
