Sony of America has just announced that it will slash the price of its PS2 console from $149 to $129 by the end of this month. There were also talks of a Sony-sponsored event taking place on May 8th that will deal with the PS3 launch, console specifications, and launch games.
Citing “industry checks”, Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian told clients the price-cut would be made to “bring the current-generation consoles within reach of more value-oriented customers” and to “drive demand at the end of a console cycle”, Reuters reports.
