NOEM’s spaceship home in the Spanish neighborhood of La Moraleja has been completed. Featuring sci-fi-inspired elements and energy-efficient technology, the elevated home includes a Star Wars-inspired control panel as well as home automation inside so you’ll be able to remotely control everything with a smartphone. At the push of a button, the house can be automated to perform various tasks, including closing the shutters at specific times of day and / or changing the lighting intensity and color to achieve different atmospheres. “The other two modules – one containing the bedroom-studio and the other the living area – take advantage of the site’s lush landscape through large panoramic windows. The architects raised the home onto 12-feet-high stilts to optimize the views and to give the impression that the structure had just touched ground on Earth. Smart building technologies, including 10-inch-thick wool insulation and a heat-recovery ventilation system, earned the project a Class A energy certification,” reports Inhabitat.
