Poland’s PL-01 stealth tank may be a concept – prototype set to be complete this year, but its proposed active infrared camouflage system apparently can make itself appear as a car or other objects by matching the temperature of its surroundings, and then displaying a pre-programmed image onto its temperature-controlled wafer. It also has a modular ceramic-aramid shell, which is designed to provide protection compatible with NATO standard STANAG 4569 Annex A at level 5+ within the front portion of the hull and turret. Additional armour panels are mounted on the turret and hull, and are designed to provide full protection against projectiles. Powering this beast is a 940-horsepower diesel engine coupled to a torque converter, automatic gearbox and driving assistance mechanism.
