If you were fortunate enough to live in an area with clear skies, the super moon of 2012 probably caught your eye. According to James Garvin, chief scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, “the present supermoon is, at maximum, only about 9 to 10 percent larger in an angular (appearance) sense than a typical full moon and is also brighter (by a few percent), making it appear ‘super.'” Continue reading to see the incredible pictures and videos from last night.
