Plaion unveils Atari THE400 Mini, a console that measures half the size of the original Atari 400 that first launched in 1979. It comes bundled with THECXSTICK, an enhanced, updated version of the legendary CX40 Atari joystick.

Atari Pong was released on this day (November 29) in 1972 and some may not know that the game was developed by engineer Allan Alcorn as a training exercise assigned to him by company co-founder Nolan Bushnell. Ted Dabney, the second Atari co-founder, was so surprised by the quality of Alcorn’s work that he decided to manufacture the game for release in arcades.
It’s true, the Atari Portfolio is a real IBM PC-compatible palmtop computer that was released back in June 1989 at the price of $399.95 ($985.98 in 2023). This palmtop PC was actually developed by DIP (Distributed Information Processing) Research and then licensed to Atari for sale as the Portfolio in the UK and US.
PLAION has unveiled the Atari 2600+, a modern recreation of the classic consoles with several upgrades including HDMI output, USB power, and even the ability to choose from multiple screen resolutions. Aside from the included 10-in-1 cartridge (Adventure, Combat, Dodge ‘Em, etc.), this console is backwards compatible with hundreds of original Atari 2600 and 7800 games.

Each one of the ten Atari 2600 cartridges has reimagined artwork on the front label and an acrylic topper displaying the game’s title that lights up when inserted into the console.
Unlike the LEGO Atari 2600, the MyArcade X Atari Gamestation Plus is a functional retrogaming console with over 200 built-in classic games. It will be priced at $99.99 USD when released later in June and include legendary games from the Atari 2600, Atari 7800 and Atari Arcade platforms.

When built, it includes the console itself, iconic game cartridges that can be changed into 3D recreations of the 2D titles, the famous joystick, and even a surprise opening mechanism.
After weeks of leaks, the LEGO Atari 2600 set was officially announced today. It’s based on the four-switch revision of the Atari VCS / 2600, which debuted in 1980, and features the console in brick form and a joystick that articulates to feel just like the original. There’s even a bonus pop-up scene from an 80’s gaming room, bringing emories of hours spent trying to finish a game or get a new high score.
The LEGO Atari 2600 video game console set (10306) has allegedly leaked ahead of its release this summer. It celebrates the console’s 40th / 45th anniversary and reportedly costs $199.99 USD. Just like the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, this set also comes with at least one brick version of the famous CX40 joystick, complete with a red plastic button. No other details have been leaked, but more information is sure to come out in the coming month(s).
