Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR
The Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR (Advanced Vehicle Transformation) is the world’s first Avatar-inspired vehicle. The automaker describes it as a “living organism” that connects with its users and allows them to feel the world around them. How so? The interior offers a biometric connection since instead of a conventional steering wheel, the multi-functional control element in the center console allows human and machine to merge. Just place your hand on the control unit for the interior come to life, instantly the driver by his or her heartbeat and breathing.

You’ve seen the pictures, now here’s a hands-on look at the insane Samsung Odyssey G9 ultrawide gaming monitor, straight from CES 2020. It’s touted as the first Dual Quad High-Definition (DQHD; 5120×1440 resolution) gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 32:9 aspect ratio, a deep, an immersive 1000R curvature, and a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2. 8K VR Headset CES NASA
VRgineers introduced the latest generation of the XTAL professional VR headset, which incorporates 8K resolution with a set of new features, including readability optimized for powerful GPUs such as the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000. What sets this headset apart from the others is the AR mixed reality module, and improved lenses that give it a 180° field-of-view. NASA astronauts could make use of this technology for VR simulations.

Sunflower Home Awareness System Security Drone
Sunflower Labs announced today at CES 2020 the Sunflower Home Awareness System, which includes the world’s first fully autonomous residential security drone. This security system pairs always-on motion and vibration sensors with AI processing to provide privacy and peace-of-mind to homeowners while dramatically minimizing false alarms. In addition to the drone, each Sunflower, disguised as garden lights, houses an array of motion and vibration sensors to constantly monitor activity on the property. They’re capable of detecting and differentiating people, animals and cars as well as displaying the activity on a map in real-time. Read more for a video and additional information.

Sony Vision S Electric Car CES
Sony isn’t synonymous with electric vehicles, but VISION-S will most certainly make a splash if it becomes a reality. Debuted at CES 2020, this electric car comes equipped with 33 sensors, including CMOS image sensors, time-of-flight sensors embedded within the vehicle to detect + recognize people, and a solid-state LiDAR to measure 3D distances in real time. Petit Qoobo Headless Cat Robot
Yukai Engineering’s Petit Qoobo just might be the strangest robot yet at CES 2020. This pillow-like device is the followup to the company’s larger Qoobo that was unveiled last year, and it’s exactly as it looks, a tail wagging robot, but this time, with a microphone to detect sound, as well as haptic feedback for vibrating softly to mimic occasional purrs. Samsung Ballie Robot
Samsung’s is focusing on human-centered vision this decade, and that includes personalized care by enhancing the health and well-being of consumers to satisfy their individual needs. H.S. Kim unveiled the company’s vision of robots as ‘life companions,’ and introduced Ballie, a small, rolling robot that understands you, supports you, and reacts to your needs to be actively helpful around the house. Think of the Alienware Concept UFO as a Nintendo Switch that runs Windows. It’s powered by a 10th Gen Intel processor and features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, as well as Thunderbolt connectivity. This handheld PC lets gamers enjoy triple-A titles on the go on an 8-inch screen at 1900×1200 resolution. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but we won’t be surprised to see a production model when the Switch Pro is released later this year.

The world’s is still adopting 5G technology, and it’s set to continue disrupting the tech landscape and enable the likes of smart cities, smart infrastructure and smart IoT. Lenovo aims to join in by launching the world’s firs laptop with 5G connectivity. This ultra-portable 2-in-1 is also the first-ever PC powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G Compute Platform.
