The NIO ET9 ultra-premium EV was revealed yesterday during the company’s NIO Day 2023 event, and it’s their most expensive model to date. This vehicle adopts the Landjet design, which aims to maximize cabin space, comfort, safety, and steering.
NIO Day 2021, held in Suzhou, China, was a massive success because the company unveiled the ET5, a mid-size smart electric sedan that will take on the Tesla Model 3. What stands out most is PanoCinema, the panoramic and immersive digital cockpit on the ET5, complete with AR and VR technologies. The company partnered with NREAL to collaborate on AR glasses exclusive to NIO, which can project an effective screen size of 201-inches at 6 meters.
NIO Chief Executive William Li claimed that the company’s latest battery technology will give the all-new ET7 a drive range of over 621-miles between charges. With a starting price of $58,378 USD, it puts this vehicle in direct competition with the Tesla Model S in China. However, the base price does not include the battery pack, as that can only be leased from the company, bumping the base price up to $69,185 USD.
