TCL’s 40 NXTPAPER 5G has some competition in the form of the NIO Phone. Yes, the China-based electric car maker has just unveiled their first smartphone, and it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which boasts 8-cores and clocked at up to 3.2 GHz for 64 bit applications.
Priced from $890 USD, it also features a 6.81-inch AMOLED screen with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of internal storage, a rear triple camera system (50MP Wide + 50MP Ultra-Wide + 50MP Periscope), and a 5,200mAh battery that supports 60W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless fast charging. It runs Sky UI, which is an Android-based operating system, while an action button lets users quickly access 30 different in-vehicle functions. There’s no word yet on availability.
