The possibilities are endless in Halo Infinite Forge mode, whether it be finishing the canceled Silent Hill Pt, or recreating Andy’s Room from Toy Story. A gamer known as ‘Red Nomster’ online has achieved the latter, and everything was built to scale to make you feel as if you’re actually a toy rather than futuristic soldier.
There’s the Ascento 2 robot, and then this Pixar x Porsche 911 Sally Special that will be auctioned off at Monterey Car Week by RM Sotheby’s on August 20th. This project all started back in November 2021 when the original Cars team that brought both the film character and life-size Sally Carrera to life more than 20 years ago joined forces with the automaker.
Pixar movies typically begin with a Pixar short film, like Bao with Incredibles 2, Lou with Cars 3, Piper with Finding Dory, and so forth, but for Onward, we’re getting one from The Simpsons universe. That’s right, since the The Walt Disney Company acquired Fox properties, they’re going to screen “Playdate with Destiny” before Onward, starring Maggie Simpson. Disney illustrator Brian Kesinger has spent over 16-years at the company, but what has really made him stand out is his work outside of the studio. Simply put, he has combined the worlds of Star Wars and Calvin & Hobbes into one. “Being a kid in the ’80s I was raised on a steady diet of Disney, Star Wars, and comic books, so being able to work on so many amazing films and projects has really been a dream come true. I’m not the first to mash-up Calvin & Hobbes with pop culture,” the artist who has worked on Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled, and Tarzan said. “[but] I think the difference here is that I went a little deeper with the idea. Once I really made the comparison that Kylo Ren was probably a difficult child much like Calvin, it really resonated with people. With all the hype about Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Force Awakens, some may have forgotten that Disney also owns Pixar. Here’s another interesting look at a fascinating theory by Jon Negroni that shows how fourteen of the studio’s films all exist in the same universe. “In fact, Inside Out helps to explain the role of monsters post-Monsters Inc. Bing Bong is clearly an imaginary friend that Riley dreamed up after being visited by a monster, but she eventually forgot about him. In the same way, Sulley would stop visiting her and she’d just have those memories. Only Boo actually went to the monster world, and yes, Sulley came back at least one extra time,” said Negroni in a recent blog post.
