When you combine dune buggy, go-kart and rally car into one, you get the Ariel Nomad. It’s basically an open-air, rear-wheel drive off-road vehicle that tears through just about any kind of terrain with the ferocious energy of a supercar. Powered by a 2.4L engine that produces 235-horsepower, mated to a 6-speed Honda-sourced manual transmission, it sports four knobbly off-road tires, a reinforced underbody, a brawny brush guard, heavy-duty roll cage, two seats, all packaged into a vehicle that weighs in at under 1,600 pounds. “EVO had a first go in the Nomad, which basically is a jacked-up version of the awesome Atom -a dune buggy with pure-bred genes if you prefer- leaving Henry Catchpole with a big smile on his face. With a total weight of just 670kg, the Nomad sprints from 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds and to 100mph in just 8.7 seconds,” reports Car Scoops.
