While they may look like an optical illusion of sorts, these intricate historical structures were all carved directly into blocks of marble by the extremely talented Matthew Simmonds, without the use of high-tech machinery. He blends the rough edges in with the structures for a contrasting effect. You’ll see everything from baroque basilicas to ancient Roman temples, complete with domed-roofs and elaborate columns.
