One major selling point of the S-MAX is its “FoldFlatSystem”. This design allows the third-row seats to fold flat into the floor. The small third row leads Ford to classify the vehicle as a “5+2”, meaning that the rear seats are only for occasional use, and are a no cost delete option, replaced with a sliding cargo tray
