Toys “R” Us Studios partnered with Native Foreign to create a short film using OpenAI‘s Sora text-to-video generator. It tells the story of Toys “R” Us founder Charles Lazarus and his idea that transformed toy stores forever, including how beloved mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe coming to him in a dream.
Rather than spend months drawing up a storyboard and hiring a production crew, OpenAI’s Sora enabled the team to bring this concept to reality in just a few weeks. How so? They were able to condense hundreds of iterative shots down to a couple dozen. Just about everything you see in the video was created with Sora, except for some corrective VFX and an original music score composed by Aaron Marsh.
