TREV (Turbine-Recharged Electric Vehicle) is China’s first supercar, and it’s a doozy. Featuring six electric motors that generate 1030-horsepower, enabling it to go from 0-60 in just 2.5-seconds, with a top speed of 217mph. What really sets it apart is the air turbine, which can operate at peak efficiency at all times while the electric motors take care of the flexibility necessary for driving around. “The turbine produces enough juice – 36kW -to drive the generator and power the ancillaries. Combine this with a 20kWh Lithium-Manganese-Oxide battery pack that can be pre-charged in just 40 minutes using a plug, and you’ve got a vehicle that could achieve 1569mpg and a range of over 1200 miles,” according to Car.uk.
