Some of the safety features include Maximum Depth Protection (MDP), which prevents the pilot from diving deeper than the submarine’s maximum operating depth by automatically raising the sub until it is once again within its certified depth. Plus, each submarine is equipped with a minimum of 96 hours of life support for all passengers aboard. Its 62-kWh battery is good for around 8-hours of use, while the Deadman’s Switch (DMS) will function for an additional 96 hours, automatically resurfacing the submersible in the unlikely event that the pilot becomes incapable of controlling it.
