The US Space Force has begun using CHAPPIE, a quadruped robot dog designed for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) field operations. Not just any robot, this one has an extensive list of capabilities and customizations, including remote CBRN sensing capabilities using the agency’s current inventory of detectors.
CHAPPIE will be used for more than just a tool for saving lives and improving CBRN efficiency, as it represents a legacy of innovation as well as a testament to the power of new ideas. It also provides a significant capability to support every mission at every base across the Air and Space Force.
