It’s official, Janne ‘Iceman’ Laitinen has achieved a speed of 208mph in an Audi RS6 on a track carved into the frozen Gulf of Bothnia in Finland. The Daily Mail says that “the tires used to achieve the new record were Nokian’s latest Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tire, which are designed for balanced lateral and longitudinal grip.” According to a company representative: “[The design] helps drivers get ‘stable and predictable handling’ at ‘extreme speeds on uneven ice as well as during regular overtaking on winter roads.'”
