Disney Research has created a Big Hero 6-inspired soft arm and hand for physical human-robot interaction. Featuring two air-filled force sensing modules that passively absorb impact and provide contact force feedback, as well as an inflated outer cover which encloses the arm’s underlying mechanisms / force sensing modules. It also comes equipped with an internal projector to project a display on the inside of the cover which is visible from the outside.
