While the HMS Astute may be the world’s most advanced nuclear submarine, “the $5.5 billion sub’s rudder [still managed to get] caught in a bank, and it’s currently waiting for a coastguard tugboat to drag it out.” Videos after the break.
The submarine’s nuclear reactor means that it will not need refuelling once in its entire 25-year life and it makes its own air and water, enabling it to circumnavigate the globe without needing to surface.
