
Steve McQueen used a beautiful Porsche 911T in his 1971 film “Le Mans”, and now, the automaker has created a one-off model to pay tribute to the late actor. This stunning 911 R was originally delivered to France, and is now up for auction through RM Sotheby’s. Painted in slate grey, this supercar offers a 500 bhp DOHC horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Continue reading for more pictures and information.






“In addition to the slate grey paint, this special edition also sports contrasting silver bonnet stripes, bucket seats with houndstooth inserts, and custom illuminated door sills inscribed with McQueen’s famous quote: ‘Racing is life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting,'” reports Uncrate.
