Thirdverse’s X8 Contra Super Wall Storm gives the classic game a VR makeover for Meta Quest. Players can assume the iconic Bill and Lance characters in 3D as they face off against the formidable “Red Falcon” in an intense 360-degree world, battling waves of oncoming enemies.
Aside from the traditional power-ups, there are also special attacks through the new “Overload” feature introduced in Contra: Operation Galuga. This crossover game introduces a rogue AI “Index” that seeks to expand its influence beyond X8’s digital domain by targeting the game Contra. After collecting data on Bill and Lance, the AI creates millions of replicas of these iconic characters to make them fight in arenas to train and perfect its system.
