While the PS4 was officially announced today, the actual console was nowhere in sight. However, the controller that was leaked a few days ago, seemed to be right on point, as you can see above. The PlayStation 4 will compete with Nintendo's Wii U, and Microsoft's as-yet-unannounced Xbox 360 successor, as part of the eighth generation of video game consoles. It's powered by an Octa-core x86 64-bit CPU, dedicated graphics technology for seamless compression & decompression of video media, a dedicated secondary chip for background tasks, even while in sleep mode, and unified 8GB of GDDR5 System Memory.

The DualShock 4 controller features a built-in touch-pad, share button, and a light bar used to communicate with a dual camera attachment. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The external camera attachment perceives movement and depth by using the controller's light bar.
