Inside Line reports that “Ford will roll out a car-based crossover as the next-generation Ford Explorer,” and the teaser image above is a first look at its redesigned chassis. It will be powered by either a “2.0-liter four-cylinder Ecoboost and the regular, non-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6.” Video after the break.

The premium engine, the 3.5-liter V6, will share new Ti-VCT technology for increased output and efficiency, with horsepower rated at 285.
