The 2024 Ford Mustang GT3 made its debut today at Le Mans, and the race car will compete in both the 2024 World Endurance Championship season as well as the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. Power comes from a modified Coyote-based 5.4L V8 engine making a maximum of 670 hp, mated to a rear-mounted transaxle gearbox.
Other features include a custom short-long arm suspension, carbon fiber body panels, and a bespoke aero package developed to meet GT3 targets. Even before it races in Le Mans, the Ford Mustang GT3 will compete in various GT3 series across the globe in the hands of customer teams, with the first one being Germany-based Proton Competition.

Ford and Le Mans are bound together by history. And now we’re coming back to the most dramatic, most rewarding and most important race in the world. It is not Ford versus Ferrari anymore. It is Ford versus everyone. Going back to Le Mans is the beginning of building a global motorsports business with Mustang, just like we are doing with Bronco and Raptor off-road,” said Jim Farley, Ford Motor Company CEO.
