At first glance, the image above may just look to be a photo manipulation created with software, but it’s actually a real sea of compact discs, 65,000 of them to be exact. According to My Modern Met, the artist envisioned “Wastelandscape” to be like “a still sea of metallic dunes.” The discs were hand-sewn together into an astounding 500-square meter surface and then draped over inflatable mounds.
