Trying to use the world’s smallest NERF gun is probably tougher than actually building it, while Uhltimate’s 3D-printed semi-automatic 6-shot blaster looks to be a joy to fire, thanks to a compliant mechanism. It consists of three parts: the trigger, a sear, and the striker.
All of these individual parts has a compliant mechanism in order to function. In other words, the user pulls back the trigger, which in turn hooks into and pulls back the striker. The sear releases the striker when the trigger is pulled back far enough. This allows it to shoot forward and hit a projectile, sending it flying.

Very cool. I printed it in standard PLA but it stopped working after a couple times through the mag. The hook doesn’t spring back with enough force to rehook anymore. I never have good luck with 3d printing compliant mechanisms. Must be my Bambu filament,” said one commenter.
