Cydonia was first imaged in detail by the Viking 1 and Viking 2 orbiters. Eighteen images of the Cydonia region were taken by the orbiters, of which seven have resolutions better than 250 m/pixel (820 ft/pixel). In one of the images taken by Viking 1 on July 25, 1976, a 2 km (1.2 miles) long Cydonian mesa, situated at 40.75° north latitude and 9.46° west longitude, had the appearance of a humanoid face. 5. Iguana-Like Creature

Found on NASA’s SOL 153 page, this photograph taken by the Mars Curiosity Rover of what appears to be a fossilized Iguana on the surface of Mars. This reptilian creature doesn’t just appear in one image, but three NASA photos taken by Curiosity. Strange? Possibly…

4. Rat

“It’s a cute rodent on Mars. Note its lighter-color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach,” Scott Waring wrote at UFO Sightings Daily back in December. “Looks similar to a squirrel camouflaged in the stones and sand by its colors.

3. Eagle

“This objects looks to have a head in front on the left side and long wings bent down below it, causing it to appear much like eagles on Earth. If life is on Mars, we can assume there are many kind including predators that hunt from the air. This very well could be an eagle or even an alien craft…but we need a close up of the object with a better focus. It looks like a billion pixels still has a lot of things out of focus…is it NASA or is it something else?” says Scott Warring.

2. Humanoid

“NASA scientists have been puzzled by the peculiarly life-like image,” declared the Times of London. The humanoid figure was spotted in a huge panoramic photograph snapped on the edge of Mars’ Gusev crater by NASA’s Spirit rover in early November, and posted on NASA’s Web site.

1. Mars Face

Is it possible that the original face on Mars was purposefully designed to only appear from a great distance, similar to the Nazca Lines which were designed to only be viewed from above, despite humans not having the technology do to so thousands of years ago? Here is one more example.
