Delta Flight Products (DFP) teamed up with UK-based consortium Air4All to develop a new seat prototype for passengers with limited mobility. put simply, it converts a standard passenger seat to an accommodation for wheelchair restraint, while still providing access to headrest, center console tray tables and cocktail table.
This patented design adapts to serve passengers with wheelchairs in place and also enables airlines to retain the design of their cabin on every seat. It was officially unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany and is undergoing a final design process.
