Samsung Wallet now supports student IDs from 68 colleges, universities, and higher education institutions. Some of them include Penn State, University of North Alabama, University of Florida, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
One users add their school ID to Samsung Wallet, they’ll be able to use their device to unlock doors at places like dorm rooms and academic buildings. Participating higher education institutions will also let students use their devices around campus for NFC-based payments at on-campus stores, vending machines, and more. Fast Mode lets students bring up their ID by simply tapping the phone, while Power Reserve Mode can tap to use their ID even when the device has switched off due to low battery.
