Samsung Display recently showcased their Rollable Flex display at the Society for Information Display (SID) 2023 trade show. Unlike other foldable displays, this one is capable of minimizing the diameter of the axis, or the cylindrical shaft that wraps around the screen.
If the Rollable Flex’s shaft diameter were as large as a rolled-up toilet paper, it would be excessively bulky and less than optimal in terms of portability. Even with a 12.4-inch screen wrapped up, it maintains a slim diameter of just 26mm when its wrapped around the shaft, thus enhancing the Rollable Flex’s portability.
