JCo Audio built a Raspberry Pi-powered MIDI spoon piano that sounds unique to say the least. The twelve metal spoons serve as the keys of the piano, placed on a wooden base similar to those of the white and black keys of a conventional keyboard.
He used 3D-printed inserts to keep them in place, all connected to a Raspberry Pi Pico through a Pico Touch 2 board. The latter enables the spoons to be used as capacitive touch pads, which then sends that data to a custom program coded by todbot and turn it into MIDI data. One last step involves connecting the Raspberry Pi Pico to a PC running a MIDI syntheizer to actually make the sounds.
