Sony’s PlayStation 4 was released nearly 11-years-ago in North America, and Rudd van Failer’s Portable GameStation (PGS4) is the first portable version we’ve seen. Even though it’s not as refined as some of the portable PS5 builds we see today, the chassis is clean, yet functional, to say the least.
The shell combines laser cut acrylic sheets with 3D-printed brackets for a finished product that appears to be more of a beefy gaming laptop than a PS4. Once the housing was completed, Rudd just had to install the PS4 motherboard inside and ensure that the relevant ports as well as vents were properly cut out. An LCD screen with integrated speakers speakers was then attached to complete the build, but a large battery was not added for true portability…yet.
