How many remember seeing the Packard Bell Corner Computer by Frog Design from 1995 in stores? Most likely not many, as it retailed for $1,299 ($2,689 in 2024) without a monitor. Hardware wise, it was nothing too special, powered by an Intel Pentium 100 or 120 MHz processor with 16MB of RAM.
What really set it apart from other desktop computers during that time are its strangely located 1.44 MB floppy drive and 8X ATAPI CD-ROM drive. These jettisoned out strange angles when opened. Other hardware features include an S3 Trio64 graphics card, an 850 MB to 1.2 GB hard drive, and an Aztech internal sound card.

Ah, a lot of people talk about nostalgic disk sounds, but for me is the degaussing of a good 90s CRT that bring back the memories. That small feeling of fear at touching the monitor, the tiny shocking sensation of static electricity, and the degaussing sound that you can swear just gave hiccups to the fridge,” said one commenter.
