Just like the NIO ET9, the Swippitt Charging Station also has battery swapping technology, but for smartphones. Put simply, you place a special power bank case onto your device, and whenever the battery runs low, insert it into the hub for a quick 2-3 second swap.
The 3,500mAh case is good for around 50 to 90 percent of extra charge, while an accompanying app lets you customize several functions, including limiting the charging of your phone’s battery to 80 percent to extend its lifespan, time of day to charge the device, etc. It’s expected to retail for around $450 USD for the hub with five batteries and the case, or just $120 for an additional battery case, next summer.
