Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Hypercar
Koenigsegg has churned out vehicles that push the boundaries, and now, with the $5.2-million Sadair’s Spear, they’ve gone and obliterated them. Built on the underpinnings of the already bonkers Jesko, this track-focused hypercar, still legal for the streets, is a limited-run masterpiece that’s as rare as it is ferocious.

Named for the racehorse Jesko von Koenigsegg—father of founder Christian von Koenigsegg—rode in his final 1976 race, the Sadair’s Spear carries a personal torch. “This car is a tribute to my father’s racing passion and his bond with that horse,” Christian said. Only 30 will ever exist, all snatched up by VIPs before the public even got a peek.

Powering this beast is Koenigsegg’s 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, pumping out 1,300 horsepower on regular 95-octane gas and an immense 1,625 horsepower on E85. Paired with a flywheel-free Light Speed Transmission that swaps gears in a brain-melting 0.2 seconds, it hits an 8,500-rpm redline with superbike-level fury. “Perfection’s always one step ahead,” Christian said. “That’s what drives us.” Shaving 35 kilograms to a lean 1,320 kilograms (2,910 pounds), it beats the Koenigsegg One:1’s legendary 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.

Aerodynamics make the Sadair’s Spear a track titan. A double-blade active rear wing on a stretched tail cranks out massive downforce, while reworked front canards, hood vents, and a Gurney flap keep airflow tight for cooling and stability. Its seven-spoke Aircore carbon-fiber wheels—unique to each corner—wear wider, track-ready tires that cling to the pavement like glue. At Sweden’s Gotland Ring, it crushed the Jesko Attack’s lap record by 1.1 seconds—a gap that’s practically rude in hypercar land. Koenigsegg’s team says it’s built to dominate tracks while still cruising comfortably in the real world.

Triplex dampers and lightweight springs, plus a self-leveling suspension, keep it glued through corners. Upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes with beefier pads ensure it can stop on a dime, while the cabin mixes race-ready sparseness with Koenigsegg’s flair. What does this mean? Carbon-fiber seats with optional six-point harnesses, a steering-mounted SmartCluster display, inductive phone charging, and the Autoskin system that pops open all panels with a keyfob tap.
