EA Official Battlefield 6 Trailer Reveal
A world on the brink of collapse, cities crumbling under endless war and soldiers preparing for global conflict—this is the first look at Battlefield 6, which dropped like a tank on a quiet street. Electronic Arts has unveiled the next installment of its first-person shooter series, after the challenges of Battlefield 2042.

The reveal trailer, released July 24, 2025, focuses on atmosphere over gameplay details, shows a world falling apart. A presidential speech sets the tone, cut short by explosions and city devastation around the world. Tanks roll through city ruins, fighter jets scream overhead, buildings collapse in clouds of dust. The trailer introduces Pax Armata, a shadowy private military company backed by former NATO states, whose mysterious motives could spark a global war.

Four studios—DICE, Criterion, Motive and Ripple Effect—have come together as Battlefield Studios to make this big game. DICE leads the multiplayer charge, Criterion and Motive are working on the single-player campaign, which was missing from Battlefield 2042. Ripple Effect is working on a new mode, possibly a free-to-play battle royale like Call of Duty: Warzone, but details are scarce.

Leaked playtest and datamined info suggests the single-player campaign is deep. Set between 2027 and 2030 it’s a NATO-Pax Armata conflict, with missions in Gibraltar, Egypt, Tajikistan and the US. One leaked mission is to infiltrate the Great Siege Tunnels in Gibraltar to take out anti-air defenses and secure a NATO beachhead. Drawing from shows like Lioness and films like Civil War, the campaign aims for a gritty emotional tone, but leaks suggest a six hour campaign. While shorter than some might like, its focus on storytelling could make it a highlight.

Multiplayer is where Battlefield 6 gets back to business. It’s going back to the classic four classes—Assault, Engineer, Medic and Support—ditching the Specialist system of Battlefield 2042. The game opts for 64-player matches, prioritizing tight, tactical gameplay over the previous title’s 128-player sprawl.

Dynamic destruction is back with a vengeance, players can blow up walls and reshape the battlefield for an advantage. Leaked footage shows tanks rolling through cityscapes and sniper rifles delivering impact, with persistent rubble as cover. A multiplayer reveal event on July 31, 2025 at 11:30 AM PDT will show maps, modes and more, live on YouTube and Twitch.

An open beta is planned for early August 2025 to test the core gameplay. Leaks suggest an October 10, 2025 release but EA only confirms a launch before March 31, 2026 within their fiscal year. The game will be on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, no older consoles. Pricing rumors are $70 for PC, $80 for consoles and $100–110 for the premium Phantom Edition. Preorders will open on July 31 alongside the multiplayer reveal.
