Released on March 4, 2000 in Japan, the Sony PlayStation 2 is still the best selling game console of all-time, but unfortunately, many of them are either broken or just left collecting dust. One gamer decided to take one of these broken consoles and transform it into a fully-functional gaming computer. Featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G CPU, 16GB of TeamGroup T-Force Night Hawk DDR4 memory, a 250GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta R RGB SSD, a B450i AORUS Pro WiFi card, and an FSP FlexGURU 300W PSU.
Aside from the cramped space inside the PS2 chassis, the most challenging task of this build was managing all of the cables, finding places to put them without hindering airflow. Unfortunately, there was not enough room for a dedicated graphics card, so you probably won’t be able to play the latest games at max resolution using the integrated Radeon RX Vega 11 GPU.
