DJI, a name synonymous with drones, has landed on your living room floor. The company’s first robot vacuum, the Romo, arrived in China on August 6, 2025 and it’s not just another cleaner. This machine borrows the precision and smarts of DJI’s aerial tech to sweep away the competition with power, brains and a design that’s meant to be seen. With three models—S, A, and P—priced from $650 to $950 the Romo series is a big bet on smarter home cleaning.
DJI replaces the usual top mounted LiDAR tower with a front facing duo of fisheye cameras and three wide angle laser modules. This setup, inspired by the company’s drone tech creates a panoramic view that can see obstacles as thin as a charging cable—down to 2mm. Whether it’s a stray sock or a pet’s surprise the Romo’s AI maps your home with precision, storing data locally so your floorplan remains private. It navigates tricky corners and dark spaces without breaking a sweat, adjusting its path in real time to dodge furniture or reflective surfaces.

Suction power is 25,000Pa, putting the Romo among the heavy hitters. Dual roller brushes tackle hair without tangling, two extendable side arms sweep dust from tight edges and under furniture. The vacuum adapts to different floor types, lifts its brushes or mop to avoid smearing dirt across your carpet. And speaking of mopping, the Romo’s 164ml onboard tank pairs with dual rotating pads, the base station holds a 4L clean water tank and a 3.2L dirty water tank. The system adjusts cleaning fluid strength based on the room—gentler for your kitchen, tougher for the bathroom.

The series comes in three flavors: the S, in classic white; the A, with a transparent robot and white base; and the P, fully see through and a techy jellyfish. This transparent look especially on the P model feels like a nod to modern gadget design. The base station, like Roborock’s Curv, does the dirty work: it washes mops, empties the 2.4L dustbin and even sterilizes with UV light and silver ion tech on the P model to kill odors and bacteria. Maintenance is easy, the DJI Home app will send you alerts when the dust bag or water tank needs attention.

DJI claims the Romo’s three-stage filter reduces suction and blade hum by up to 80% making it one of the quietest in its class. A 5,000mAh battery gives you up to 3 hours of cleaning in quiet mode and 2.5 hours of fast charging with a 55W system. The app adds polish with remote control, room specific scheduling and encrypted video monitoring for peace of mind. Voice commands work with smart speakers so you can tell the Romo to clean the living room while you sip your coffee.

Pricing starts at $650 for the Romo S, $752 for the A and $947 for the P. US prices may vary with import fees. For context high end models like the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra retail for $1,000 so the Romo is in premium territory without being in the stratosphere. The P model adds extras like UV-sterilized dust bags and a deodorizing wastewater system but all three have the same core tech. Available now in China with a global launch later in 2025 the Romo is entering a crowded market.
