Most people end up with a small mountain of chargers. Phone brick, watch puck, earbud pad, extra USB cables for whatever else needs power. That pile sits on the nightstand, takes over the desk, and somehow multiplies when a suitcase gets packed. Acer’s S1 7-in-1 wireless charging station, priced at $49.59 (was $80), steps into that mess and replaces most of it with a single compact unit that handles several devices at once while adding a clock and soft light.
There are two wireless phone pads on the stand, one slanted so that an iPhone may rest there while still showing notifications, and the other flat so that you can simply place your phone down. Both will charge your phone at up to 15 watts (current iPhones, etc.) and conventional Qi charging is available on many Android phones. You also get a dedicated space where you can charge your Apple Watch quickly, as well as a little pad sized just ideal for AirPods in their wireless case. On the back, there are two wired ports, one USB-A and one USB-C, which will allow you to charge a power bank, a Magic Mouse, or any other small USB device. With a 30-watt converter plugged in, the entire setup can keep six devices charged at the same time without having to jostle for outlets.

When you place it on a nightstand, all of the benefits are immediately obvious. Everything that used to require its own cable now fits into this single, tiny footprint that is only eight and a half inches wide. When a phone connects to the station’s “S1” signal via Bluetooth, the built-in display syncs the proper time the first time, along with the day of the week and inside temperature, of course.

The adjustable warm or cool ambient lighting allows you to dim it straight down to a soothing nightlight without lighting up the entire room. Meanwhile, quietly in the background, overcurrent, overvoltage, and temperature protection are all working to prevent anything from overheating during an overnight charge.

Traveling offers the same benefits, but with less weight and fewer items to take track of. Previously, you’d have had to take three or four separate chargers and a tangled mess of connections, but today you only need one station and its power adapter to charge your phone, watch, and headphones. When there aren’t enough free outlets in a hotel room or airport lounge, this gadget converts a single outlet into a full-fledged charging hub.
