Amazon’s new Astro for Business robot has just launched, designed for small and medium-sized businesses. It combines robotics, smart security, and artificial intelligence (AI), into a sleek package that can be custom tailored to each customer with separately sold subscriptions that provide incremental benefits when layered on top of each other.
A Virtual Security Guard option can also be added to have Astro check in after hours, patrol the premises and send alerts if something is amiss. It can map up to 5,000 square feet, complete with live view, two-way talk, HD periscope footage with night vision, and visual ID for unrecognized person smart alerts. Available now, priced at $2,349.99 USD. Fortunately, there’s a home version that can be purchased by invitation for $1,599.99.
