An Amazon delivery van was sliced in half by an Amtrak train back in 2021 and its driver, Alexander Evans, managed to walk away unscathed. The dash camera managed to capture most of the action from the inside and some of what happened up front.
Amtrak trains can typically travel at speeds of between 110-145 mph in certain areas, but just how fast it was going here at this crossing has not yet been confirmed. However, aerial footage captured by a helicopter shows the two side panels of the van stuck into the nose of the train. The railroad crossing sign may have malfunctioned, as Evans claims that the train came roaring through not long after he made a left turn onto the tracks.

Just air and the pressure. I felt the airbags, and it was just…I didn’t know what to feel to be honest with you. Literally it was like one long beep, like a horn from the train, and I put my foot on the gas. I was like, I don’t know how far I’m going to get away from him,” said Evans.
