Digital Dreams released a video showing their Zelda Breath of the Wild remaster running on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card in 8K resolution with ray-tracing. It’s safe to say that this game probably won’t even look this good on the Nintendo Switch 2, which is rumored to be on released in 2025.
This remaster isn’t just a concept video, just the actual game with a host of mods including Complete RT shader by NiceGuy. This mod lets users add global illumination with effects like Diffuse Illumination / Specular Reflection, ambient occlusion and glossy reflections to just about any game, or Breath of the Wild in this case. One thing we can add is that at least one game for the Switch successor, possibly Metroid 4, will be released in Q1 2025.
- NVIDIA Ada Lovelace Streaming Multiprocessors: Up to 2X performance and power efficiency
- 4th Generation Tensor Cores: Up to 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering
- 3rd Generation RT Cores: Up to 2x ray tracing performance
