Lisa Su unveiled the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X at Computex 2024 yesterday, and it’s officially the first Zen 5 CPU. This generation comes equipped with up to 16 high-performance CPU cores boasting 32 threads and 50% more on-chip L3 cache memory over previous gen “Zen 4” processors.
The 9000 series also includes the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X processors. These desktop processors are expected to ship beginning in July 2024, with pricing yet to be announced. In related news, the AM5 socket motherboard family also features two new chipsets that are both designed to seamlessly integrate with AMD Ryzen 9000 Series desktop processors: the AMD X870E and X870 chipsets.
