Apple macOS Sonoma was revealed yesterday at WWDC 2023, unlike Apple Money, and there’s a bevy of new features that should get users excited. Starting off, we have Game Mode, which provides an optimized gaming experience with smoother and more consistent frame rates. This is achieved by ensuring games receive the highest priority on the CPU and GPU.
Game Mode also lowers audio latency with AirPods, and significantly reducing input latency with popular game controllers. Most importantly, Game Mode works with any game, including all current and upcoming Mac games. Next up are interactive widgets that seamlessly blend with the wallpaper while users work in apps. Continuity lets you use all of the iPhone widgets on Mac, whether it be reminders, home controls or just simple tasks. New screen savers add slow-motion videos of stunning locations from around the world like Monument Valley, Hong Kong and the rolling hills of Sonoma. The beta is available now for Apple Developer Program members and the official release is coming this fall.
