Could an Apple Smart Ring be in the works? A recently approved patent may have given us a first look at such a device, as it describes a skin-to-skin contact / gesture input from a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) used to perform actions.

These actions may include answer a call on an iPhone, controlling an iPad with gestures, logging onto a MacBook, authenticating a user when downloading an app, or just something as simple as changing the volume. Some of the sketches also hint at the possibility of a tiny controller that would generate haptic feedback for certain actions. If you don’t need these smart features, there’s the Casio Watch Ring Collection.
