Artificial Intelligence Robot Artist Ai-Da Pyramids Giza
Ai-Da, named after mathematician Ada Lovelace, made an appearance at the Giza Pyramid Complex, but it wasn’t smooth sailing. She was actually seized by border agents upon her arrival, as authorities feared the robot may have been hiding covert spy tools. Ai-Dai presented her sculpture, titled “Immortal Riddle,” a play on the ancient Egyptian considerations of the afterlife and our current obsession with using biotechnology to achieve immortality in the 21st century.

Measuring 6.5-feet high, 2.4 meters long and 7.9-feet wide, this larger than life sculpture was nestled on the Giza Plateau with a breathtaking view of the pyramids. For those wondering, Ai-DA’s robotic drawing arm and AI algorithms were designed by Salaheldin Al Abd and Ziad Abass, while her other AI capabilities come collectively from students as well as professors from the Universities of Oxford / Birmingham.
