A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Baja, California yesterday, south of Mexicali, Mexico, and “was felt from Tijuana and Los Angeles to Las Vegas and Phoenix.” There was three strong aftershocks within an hour after the earthquake, “including a magnitude-5.1 jolt in the Imperial County desert east of San Diego.” Videos after the break. The 7.2-magnitude quake was felt as far north as Santa Barbara, USGS seismologist Susan Potter said. It was one of the strongest to hit California in recent history.
