BAE Systems, a British multinational defense / security / aerospace company, has developed a massive 36-foot electromagnetic rail gun. When the Navy adopts the technology – testing will occur for another 5 years – the aim (pardon the pun) of the railgun is to fire multiple projectiles miles across the ocean’s surface without draining the power of the battle ship.
